dollars & Donuts showcase 2017

On December 21, 2017, the Dollars & Donuts Showcase lit up the Landmark Theaters at San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center Cinema with a sold-out night of fun, laughter, and thrills! The evening kicked off with "It’s a Miracle," a jazzy, tongue-in-cheek number led by Lori Carsillo, as the crew’s backstage antics set the tone for a lineup of unforgettable films and interstitial surprises. Let the show begin!

no pill for regret

Frank Muntz (Gino Vigil) spirals into madness after the loss of his son, as grief, guilt, and vivid hallucinations push him to confront the darkest truths of his shattered reality.

Chris Ross & Gino

After the emotional whirlwind of No Pill for Regret, the Showcase takes a lighter turn with its first interstitial featuring Chris Ross and Gino Vigil. In an inside joke turned reality, the two actors—long teased for playing similar roles—share the screen for the first time, much to the delight of the audience.

Meanwhile, backstage chaos unfolds as Daryl, Michael, Becker, and Brian scramble to solve a projectionist snafu. With the next film nowhere to be found, Becker saves the day (sort of) by whipping out some old VHS tapes, leading to an unexpected twist in the Showcase lineup.

What’s next? Even the crew doesn’t seem to know—but it’s Dollars & Donuts, so it’s bound to be unforgettable.

night dicks

Detectives Slade McKlosky and Rochester Black are back on the beat with a case that’s gone straight to the dogs—literally. Tasked with tracking down a killer pooch, the Night Dicks quickly sniff out their suspect, but this isn’t your average tail-wagging mystery. Things take a bizarre turn (as they always do) in this quick-witted, absurd noir romp.

Spoiler alert: They find the dog.

mitch & lorenzo

As the Dollars & Donuts Showcase rolls on, backstage tensions rise with Michael Martin's latest decree: no more Night Dicks.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Martin and Lorenzo Ocon step into the spotlight for their big moment. Lorenzo’s feeling a little insecure about his script’s jokes being too corny, but Mitch is ready to help… by making them much, much worse.

the meet-up

A frustrated waiter struggles to deal with his clientele—all of whom seem to be undercover detectives and informants—while the chaos in his diner reaches a breaking point.

ray & Becker

Ray Revello and Becker Von Felsburg bring their classic charm and playful banter to the stage, evoking the spirit of old Hollywood roasts and vintage Oscars ceremonies. Trading quips with sharp timing and a touch of nostalgia, the duo set the stage for the next showcase highlight.

shadows in the snow

After double-crossing and murdering their partner Joey, criminals Ernie and Stokes find themselves stranded in the unforgiving, snow-covered wilderness with a suitcase full of stolen cash—and Joey’s laughter haunting them every step of the way.

well, did you evah?

The Dollars & Donuts Showcase hurtles toward its grand finale, but there's a hitch—Daryl and Becker have mysteriously vanished! Michael scrambles to keep things on track, but the duo’s whereabouts become hilariously clear when the audience is treated to a musical number of classic debauchery and barroom banter. Will they sober up in time for the surprise trailer, or will Michael’s patience finally snap?

dead right: part three

Deke Trenton emerges as a relentless force in a world ruled by betrayal and blood debts, methodically taking down those who cross him. After a brutal confrontation leaves three bodyguards dead, Deke confronts Mr. Rooker, his once-trusted ally turned adversary, in a chilling showdown that culminates in ruthless retribution.

outro & credits

The Dollars & Donuts crew closes the night with a rousing rendition of Cole Porter’s "Well, Did You Evah?" Taking the stage for one last laugh, this spirited finale brings the Showcase to a lively and unforgettable end.
