The Meet-up

In The Meet-Up, a harried waiter (Lorenzo Ocon) faces his most absurd shift yet as he struggles to serve a diner packed with undercover detectives and informants, each locked in their own melodramatic schemes. Tensions rise, noir tropes clash, and the diner’s dim lighting becomes the battleground for secrecy, sarcasm, and outright chaos. Featuring a comedic script by Mike Bedard, this short film is a sharp, tongue-in-cheek jab at detective clichés.

Directed by Daryl Della, The Meet-Up served as a launchpad for one of Dollars & Donuts’ most beloved spin-offs. The casting of Brandon Reed as Slade McKlosky and Becker Von Felsburg as Rochester Black brought the delightfully mismatched Night Dicks to life, sparking their breakout debut and immediate cult following. Their appearance in The Meet-Up, premiering immediately after Night Dicks, doubled the audience's laughs and cemented their status in the Dollars & Donuts universe.

Filmed on location at Royal Pin Donuts in South San Francisco, The Meet-Up playfully turns the classic detective genre on its head with razor-sharp wit, quirky performances, and an unforgettable ending.
